Playtime

Playtime is a group for preschoolers and their carers. There’s always plenty of activities for the kids to choose, we some structured time for stories and singing.

This is a time that is valuable for both kdis and their carers. Whether a parent or grandparent, or someone just with a young one on their hands, Playtime can provide a place of encouragement and help.

You can just turn up to Playtime, and it’s always free. Playtime meets in the downstairs hall at St Judes.

EPiC Kids

EPiC is for boys and girls in Years 1-6. We start whenever-you-can-get-here-after-school each Friday in term time (except the last Friday of term). Most kids arrive between 3:10 and 3:40.

We have afternoon tea, games,  and activities. Sometimes there’s craft, sometimes there’s water, soemtimes there’s glue and glitter, sometimes there’s music, sometimes there’s giant balls, jumping castles, … but there’s always a great fun.

EPiC HQ is the downstairs hall at St Judes. If you come in off Galston Road you can’t miss us. The cost is $25 per term, first term is free.

EPiC Extra has more stuff – including Science Week experiments!

Nexus

Nexus is for those in Years 7-12.  We have plenty of time to connect & build strong peer friendships through hang time at the beginning and end. We play energetic games to let off steam and build friendships, and spend some time reflecting on what the Bible has to say about life in this world through a short talk & discussion. The program starts at 6:30 each evening with hang time from 5.45pm. We finish at 8pm, but many hang around until 8:45pm.

The Nexus hangout is in the old hall at St Judes. If you come in off Galston Road, turn left and we’re straight ahead. The cost is a gold coin each week.

Our Children’s Worker, Gayong Kim, coordinates Playtime. Our Associate Minister, Matt King oversees EPiC, and our assistant minister, Roger Hokin, looks after Nexus.  All our adult leaders complete Safe Ministry courses, as required by NSW law and diocesan policy. Our leaders and their teen helpers receive regular leadership training.

Contact us for further details.

Sunday Kids

We have a full program for the kids during our Sunday morning 10am gathering at St Judes Dural.

There’s a creche for the little ones, with a video feed of the service if you want to follow along.

Then there’s groups for age 4 to Kindy, Years 1-6, and 7-9.

There’s more info here.

School Scripture (SRE)

Volunteer teachers from our church work together with members of other local churches to provide weekly school scripture classes in the 8 local primary schools (Glenorie, Hillside, Arcadia, Galston, Middle Dural, Dural, Annangrove, Kenthurst).

All our SRE teachers are required to complete the Anglican SRE Teacher Accreditation training provided by YouthWorks. This includes safe ministry training (which is renewed every 3 years) and units in SRE Theory and Practice as well as Biblical foundations. This accreditation is on-going, with annual courses and lesson observation to ensure the highest possible standards of teaching and proper support for our teachers. More information below:
